Virtual (VR) and Augmented (AR) Reality Systems laboratory is one of the most advanced laboratory at Maritime University of Szczecin developed with the aim of researching possible uses of VR and AR technology in maritime industry. Potential studies include training applications, human factor research, virtual reality simulators (both for navigation and mechanical department), design and prototyping for shipbuilders and augmented support systems for navigators and engineers.
The laboratory is equipped with specialized equipment that allow for research and prototyping with VR and AR. This include:

- Microsoft Hololens
- SMI Eye Tracking Glasses
- Microsoft Kinect
- Mobile systems: Google Daydream, Samsung Gear VR
